Dick Whittington
This years show was a traditional Pantomime full of comedy, song and slapstick for all the family. It’s Dick Whittington but with a twist as Young Sherlock Holmes investigates the case of the missing boy from Gloucestershire as he finds his way through Panto-land. King Rat is a wonderfully intelligent and most articulate villain but is all as it really seems? (Oh no it’s not!) Holmes’ detection skills are stretched to the max and he is helped along by his able sidekick Velma Whitsun (hmmmm, doesn't she remind you of someone?) Along the way we meet the Cannibal Queen, Baron Landscape and Captain Albatross of the Good Ship Flounder who all add to the hilarity. Dick of course wins the day with the help of Thomas the Wonder-cat and lives happily ever after with his new love Marigold.
Reviewers from NODA and the Rose Bowl loved this panto, praising particularly its witty dialogue, fast pace, music and dance numbers and, well, in fact everything!
