On the Town

onthetown.gifLeonard Bernstein's 1944 musical comedy On the Town tells the story of three sailors during World War II and their amorous adventures on a 24-hour shore leave in New York City. Meet Chip, Ozzie and Gabey, our all-American buddies ready to have as much fun as they can squeeze into a limited amount of time.  But each has his own idea of fun, since Chip is serious-minded, Ozzie is happy-go-lucky and Gabey is an incurable romantic.  Soon the three sailors are devoted to helping Gabey find his true love, the enigmatic chanteuse Miss Turnstiles, though of course things aren’t quite as they seem.  Along the way there are some classic Broadway hit songs including “New York, New York”, “I Get Carried Away”, and “Lucky to Be Me”.Onthetown2.jpg Onthetown1.jpg
